Everyone reading this article wants to live the best life possible. We all want to be the most productive people we can possibly be, discover our true passions, achieve financial freedom, have meaningful relationships, etc.
And to truly enhance your level of personal development on a continuous basis, many things are involved. One element of staying focused on bettering your life is motivation. Motivation is the fuel that drives us. The key to living the most enriched life possible is to first get motivated and then stay that way.
See that’s where most people run into trouble. They are in a state of what I call mindful acceptance. In this state, one’s mind is kind of like an open basketball court with nothing going on. All of a sudden, a basketball is thrown onto the court in the form of a thought and the mind becomes stimulated. The ball bounces for a little while but then eventually stops.
This process usually takes place during one’s reaction to a certain stimuli. For example, lets say you receive a bill in the mail which you cannot pay. The ball is thrown into the court, emotions start running and your mind becomes stimulated. After a little time of feeling frustrated, angry or even sad, you eventually start to become motivated to somehow make more money so this problem doesn’t happen again.
But your motivation really depends on how serious the problem is. If it’s an amount of money that you can perhaps borrow and pay back slowly, your motivation in low. But if it causes any sort of big disruption in your normal “flow” of life, your level of motivation goes through the roof!
You immediately start looking for a higher paying job, a second job, a way to create income from home, etc. And perhaps you even succeed in finding what you are looking for.
But the problem is with that system, for your level of motivation to be high, you actually have to be experiencing some sort of turmoil or disruption.
Secondly, once you find what you are looking for and solve your problem, you (like most people) then become de-motivated.
With drive, successful people however, once the ball is thrown into the court, players (in the form of more thoughts) get involved and the next thing you know, there’s a game going on. And after that game, another game is played. It’s not like the ball stops bouncing or one game is played and then the court is shut down until the next problem pops up.
And that my friends, is one of the many things that separates people who live successful, enriched lives from those who don’t. People who live happy, enriched and fulfilled lives are constantly motivated. They discover their passions, figure out what they want out of life, formulate a plan to get it and go after it. Then, after they get what they want, the begin thinking about what they want next. They never stop!
And the best part of all is that while these people are capable of turning a negative into a positive, most of their motivation comes from positive influences.
They first figure out and write down their goals, which become fuel for their brain and thoughts to run on. They are in a constant state of motivation until they achieve a goal. And once they do, their constant source of motivation begins catapulting them into their next venture.
